Katherine Elizabeth Abernathy, 17, is being remembered after a fatal two-vehicle collision in Putnam County, Georgia, on Friday, September 25, 2026.
Katherine, who was from Milledgeville, was reportedly a senior at Georgia Military College Prep School. She was involved in the crash near Eatonton at the intersection of Greensboro Road and Loch Way.

According to the reported account, Putnam County sheriff’s deputies were called to the scene around 4:42 p.m. after two vehicles collided.
Katherine was reportedly driving a Honda CR-V when she attempted to turn left onto the highway. A northbound Ford F-150 then struck the vehicle, according to the information provided.
Katherine was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the Ford, described as a 21-year-old man, was reportedly taken by private vehicle to Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital for treatment of injuries to his arms.
