Sarah Kelley, 42, of Bowie, Texas, died early Friday morning after a single-vehicle crash on State Highway 25, leaving her family and the local community mourning her sudden loss.
The crash happened shortly after 2 a.m. on September 25, 2026, near the intersection of State Highway 25 and U.S. Highway 281, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
A 5-year-old child who was traveling in the same vehicle also died in the crash, adding to the grief surrounding the tragedy.
Fatal State Highway 25 Crash
Authorities said Kelley was traveling eastbound in a 2015 Mazda CX-5 when the vehicle failed to slow as it approached a curve.
The Mazda left the roadway and rolled over. Kelley suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The young child inside the vehicle also sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the crash site.
The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation as authorities work to determine what led to the vehicle leaving the roadway.
