The Bridgeport, West Virginia, community is mourning the death of Dylan Lewis, a 41-year-old husband, father and respiratory therapist who died on Sunday, September 20, 2026.
Dylan was born in Morgantown on August 11, 1985. He was the son of Charles Lewis of Clarksburg and Brenda (Balog) Magill and stepfather Dan Magill of Point Marion, Pennsylvania.
He is survived by his wife, Brandi (McBee) Lewis, and their two children, Nola and Nico.
Family and Loved Ones Remember Dylan
Dylan’s family also includes his sister Bernadette Pittman and her husband Chris of Washington, Pennsylvania, as well as his brother-in-law Justin McBee and his wife Madison of Pittsburgh.
He is also survived by sister-in-law Tracie Wentz and her husband Kraig of Clarksburg, along with nieces Cierra Hall and Ensley McBee.
Several close friends were also considered part of Dylan’s extended family, including Ian Evosevich and Kelleena and Chris Shepler and Leah.
Above all, Dylan was devoted to his wife and children. His family remained at the center of his life, and the memories they created together will continue to be treasured by those closest to him.
Career in Respiratory Care
Dylan graduated from Carmichaels High School in 2003 before continuing his education at Fairmont State University, where he earned his degree in 2014.
He spent the final nine years of his career working as a respiratory therapist at the Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center. Through his profession, he dedicated his working life to caring for patients and helping others.
Away from work, Dylan enjoyed spending time outdoors. Camping, hiking and skiing were among the activities he loved, and he also played recreational basketball at the Bridge.
Music was another important part of his life. Dylan performed with several bands over the years and enjoyed attending concerts with friends and loved ones.
Visitation and Funeral Arrangements
Friends and family will have an opportunity to remember Dylan during visitation at Burnside Funeral Home, 607 S. Virginia Avenue in Bridgeport, on Sunday, September 27, 2026.
Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. A private burial will follow for family members.
